For the automated method, a universal cartridge is available that allows simultaneous DNA or RNA extraction from different materials. The standardised workflow and the identical requirements for reaction conditions allow PCR test kits from the same pathogen class or from different diagnostic areas to be combined in the same run according to the user’s needs. The real-time PCR assays are validated for a range of thermal cyclers.
